I’m an artist based in Norwich. I like to print from lino cuts that I make. I also sketch, usually with fine liners. I enjoy Judo, so some of prints are of judoka throwing each other. I’ve been printing for around a year and am constantly learning. I enjoy the challenge of making images that work as a print from real life and from photos and my imagination. It’s more difficult than you would imagine working in negative and carving out the bits you want to be the background colour. I’ve been working on Judo throws. See below and my gallery, the challenge being to get the movement to appear in the picture. The whole process is quite therapeutic, the carving needs a lot of focus which is good for relaxing. Then the actual printing part is exciting as I’m never sure it’s going to look like how it does in my head and I love to see the images appear on the paper.
