Fixing lino prints.

I made a beautiful sketch of the Japanese Bridge in Hoi An and thought it would make a great lino print.

I planned it all out and carved it into lino but I didn’t think about the contrast. In the picture above there is a white wall but this didn’t work well in a black and white print.

I was going to try and make a lino cut to print over the white wall but it didn’t work that well. Then a friend suggested making it into a jigsaw puzzle. I cut out the wall on the lino cut and made a new wall to fit in the hole.

As you can see it looks much better with the other advantage that I can make multiple new walls and vary the print. I’m now much happier with the print and haven’t wasted all the effort I made.
